* The zero position is specified when ordering the sensor and can be set at a distance of 30 mm or 50 mm * Non-magnetic spacer No. 1 is required only when the zero position is set at 30 mm from the linear position sensor flange and the sensor sleeve is made of magnetic material. | |
Interface
Analog output
The analog sensor connects directly to the control system or indicator. The integrated microelectronics provide normalized output signals proportional to the position.
VOLTAGE OUTPUT: | ![]() |
CURRENT OUTPUT: | ![]() |
Multi-position measurement
A sensor with an analog interface can process signals from two position magnets located on the same waveguide. To obtain position information for each magnet, two conditions must be met:
-
Measurements must be taken with a spacing of at least 75 mm.
-
The sensor configuration (specified at the time of order) must support multi-position measurement.
OPERATING MODES |
Application options • Single-position sensor (standard) for position or velocity measurement. • Dual-position sensor for simultaneous measurement of two positions. |

Setting
The main difference between an analog signal and a digital signal is that the analog signal has a reference point. When replacing a failed sensor, equipment recalibration is required in most cases. This can be performed in two ways:
-
If the customer’s machine includes a calibration function, new end positions are assigned in the control system after sensor replacement by moving the mechanism manually.
-
Alternatively, using the MSI-253 124 handheld programmer, new end position values can be programmed directly into the sensor. The procedure is similar to the first method; however, in this case the values are stored in the sensor rather than in the customer’s control system.

![]() | Description: Handheld programmer for analog sensors of the following series: MSI-H, MSI-P, MSI-D, MSI-F. Functions: Programming of the measuring range, output signal inversion. Scope of delivery: Handheld programmer art. no.: MSI-253 124 (1 pc.), Power supply 220 VAC → 24 VDC (1 pc.), Connection cable for sensor interface (1 pc.), User manual. |
